Wind power is an important component of any successful off grid system. Consider that a windmill can work day and night (unlike solar which only work 1/2 the day at best). Windmills work best when the weather is bad, this is when solar is output is at it's lowest.
Why don't we see more windmills like your with lots of blades? We get asked this question a lot. Our research says more blades means more power, especially in low and medium speed wind conditions. The cost of wind power is considerably less than solar. Currently solar power costs between $3.00 - $5.00 per watt. The cost of wind power is about $1.50 per watt.
