Pronto Power has developed an aftermarket hydraulic regenerative braking system for pickup truck and light delivery vehicles.
Normally a great deal of energy is wasted during braking. For over 50 years engineers have know of efficient ways to capture this lost energy, but low fuel costs have made the extra cost of these systems impractical.
Our regenerative braking system harnesses energy that is normally lost during braking by using a hydraulic pump to create hydraulic pressure. The pressure is stored in an accumulator.
During acceleration the stored energy is released to help get the vehicle up to speed. The system has the ability to increase the fuel mileage of a 2/4 ton pickup truck to over 30 MPG when driven in stop and go traffic. To view an article about Hydraulic Regen Braking click here
